Back in the SOJC
Students and staff at the School of Journalism and Communication at the University of Oregon are entering their fifth week of classes during fall term 2021. Angelica Gonzalez, a senior, is one of many students who has had to adjust to being back on campus since the pandemic began.
"It's nice to be back, but in-person classes are not a vibe," said Gonzalez.

Graduate to Glassworker
"One glasswork class at the university's craft center taught me more in four years than my history degree," said Linnea Greenlund, a University of Oregon alumn, on October 19. Greenlund has been making glass art in her Eugene home and selling it at the Saturday Market as her main source of income since graduating.
BLM Protest
Eugene residents marched on June 1, 2020 to Alton Baker park after the killing of George Floyd. In attendance was Mayor Lucy Vinis who made promises of police reform and cooperation with black community members.
Pumpkin Picking
On October 9, the Smith family decided to spend their unusually warm autumn Saturday drinking hot cider and picking pumpkins at Detering Orchards.

John Day
The John Day Fossil Beds in Oregon offer a look into the state's prehistoric past. On March 28, 2019, the sun highlighted some of the red clay on the "painted hills" in the area.
A Curious Moth
"I'm not breathing," Shay Freirich exhaled as a moth walked across her hand. Shay loves all wildlife and was delighted to make a new friend while hiking around Tamolitch Falls on a warm April day in 2020.
Two Mothers
On November 6, 2021, Addie Sanders, owner of the Cottage Grown Greens stand at the Lane County Farmers Market in Eugene, OR, met with her mother, Kelly Sitton, away from the commotion of the market. Addie is six months pregnant, and her mother "loves to feel the joy growning inside her."
Hiking Buddies
My uncle, Mike Abrams, and his three year old daughter, Grace, love to explore Oregon together.
"I only pick her up if we're on a narrow path," said Mike while on a trail along the McKenzie River on March 30, 2019. "Other than that, she can hike for miles."
